REVITALIZATION EFFORT

In 2017 and early 2018 phase I of the Pottsville Continued Progress Project was completed. We expect Phase II to start early summer 2018. Phase II will include a hotel feasibility study, implementation program and marketing components. Below you will find the strategic plan from Phase I and scopes of work for both the hotel feasibility study and the implementation program, as well as a comprehensive summary of what has occurred thus far. 

Continued Fundraising

First Community Meeting 

In the first meeting, residents were able to vote on what direction they would like to see the city go. They were able to pick between five choices:

Tourism

Arts & Entertainment

Living Downtown

Leveraging Locals

Health Care Sector

After a public vote, the paths were narrowed down to three: Tourism, Arts & Entertainment, and Living Downtown. These will be the areas that the consultants focus on as we move forward.

Community Round table  

The second public meeting was in the form of a round table, with ten residents and one moderator in each group. Each group was able to talk about the different plans, what they liked, what they disliked, and what they thought could be done to see these plans succeed. 

Third Public Meeting 

The third and final meeting was the culmination of one and a half years of hard work. The consultants and steering committee were proud to present the final draft of the strategic plan.
